Sounds like you need to go to settings and connect to your wifi for a network connection. Then try your reinstall. There will be no network connection unless you connect it to a network for internet.

That’s the issue, it is connected, browser works, everything else works internet related
Do me a solid and double-check your time zone on the AP. I've had that mess with synching/downloading updates. If that doesn't work I'll send you what I have.

So I double checked that, and it was wrong, I corrected it and turned it off and back on, it seems to “think” a little longer before the error but I still get it. I tried turning off the automatic date and time as well, and doing the same, still no worky. I’d be more than willing to try any other ideas if you have them. Thanks again.

I got Avenza maps to load by downloading the apk file and then installing. The place I ride only had maps on Aveza so I'm good to go except now I won't be able to get lost and blame the long night ride back to camp on not knowing where I was.

I just upgraded it on my G6 smart phone and it showed version 4.xx. This version of Avenza isn't supported on the AP as it's running Android Version 6.xx. The latest version of Avenza you can run on the AP is 3.14 and you can get that version directly from Avenza now vs having to get it via AKPure or some other Android app hosting service, which should give you peace of mind:

Adventure Pro battery replacement. You obviously only do this if your out of warranty:

If your Adventure Pro still shows a charging indicator (lighting bolt inside the battery icon) but your battery life is bad or goes dead in a day even after a decent day's riding, then your battery is probably on its way out.

If your Adventure Pro does not show that it's charging via the lighting bolt, then you either have a bad charging circuit board but you should test charging it with a micro USB cable and various USB chargers (don't try just one as some USB chargers are finicky) and replacing your battery isn't going to fix your issue.

If your Adventure Pro's battery has gotten so low that it won't reset and is just black, you can temporarily disconnect the internal battery connector to try and recover it, but this is assuming your battery is still good and you just let it run down too low. If you don't drive your Yamaha UTV/ATV very often, the Adventure Pro battery will eventually run dangerously low, so you should occasionally take it out of the cradle and manually charge it in your house using a phone USB charger or similar to bring it back up to 100%.

If your AP won't charge, then this board is probably bad. I've Googled 'Chiron' and that PCB# to no avail. It's too bad as replacing that board, which is probably cheap can fix an out-of-warranty AP. That board is also key to hacking the AP so there's a pipe dream unless someone makes one.

The replacement battery is an N496

Cheapest I could find on Amazon Prime was this for $25 but I noticed all the replacement batteries were 3800 mAh, not 4000 mAh like the original, but it should still work:

Here's the unit with the back cover removed:

Well, I took the lead from this post to charge my AP simultaneously from the micro USB port which actually keeps the AP charged vs letting it slowly die over time.

I'll add that my AP pretty much kept up with charging so long as I did a full day of riding at least once a week. That's not the case anymore prior to this mod especially with the colder temps. My AP is 3 years old.

I have two Rmax's I bought at auction, 2022 Rmax2, 2023 Rmax4. Of course neither have the tablet. If I buy one off Amazon that doesn't have the Yamaha apps/Adventure Pro apps (perhaps it was reset?) can I load all the Yamaha apps I need with the APK listed on the first post? I don't really want to spend $1,000 on a new one, but I'll spend $500 on a used one and load apps. I found one on ebay that is a Magellen and looks right, but it does have TRX on the back so its probably from that model. I just would like the speed, temp, gear, etc stuff available. I don't care too much about maps and GPS. I can use phone or load OnX, Gaia, etc for that.

Massive - thanks for the youtube videos. Some have really helped me out.

I wonder if you could use a Magellan TRX7 CS Pro and load Yamaha apps. They appear the same except the mount pin points are only 4 on the TRX and the OEM Adventure pro uses all 18 pins (or has them populated on the mount).

You're welcome! I don't think it's going to work. The X2/X4 cradle and RMAX cradles are different and I could not get my RMAX AP to work with my X2/X4 cradle. That alone leads me to believe it may not work.

Thanks for the feedback, even if it does stink. I don't care for the hole there (where the tablet goes) and it would just be nice to have the extra gauges on hand. I could buy one of the aftermarket tablet holders, but that wouldn't give me the Yamaha integration. Crazy they want $1000 for the tablet. I'll have to Google around and see if I can find some other option.

Buy a PV3 for gauges and you can get tuned for a third of the price.

UPDATE 4/11/2024

Guys, the Magellan website updater is no longer working as the above date. I've verified this personally and will update when it's working again.

So I have some time to mess with the Yamaha Adventure Pro and have unlocked developer mode. Tutorial and guides to follow.

NOTE: DO NOT RESET YOUR ADVENTURE PRO AS IT WILL DELETE THE YAMAHA APP AND YOU'LL HAVE TO SEND YOUR UNIT BACK TO YAMAHA TO HAVE IT RESTORED. I DO HAVE THE APK FILE FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY RESET YOURS, JUST PM ME.

For now, if you want to get Android apps, you can't use Google Play but have to load the Amazon App onto your Adventure Pro (obviously need Wifi) app @ Amazon.com (let me know if link doesn't work for you).

Got Avenza loaded!

For now enjoy a handy and free Clinometer app for your rock crawling adventures

So I reinstalled Avenza but this time only installed one Google module and it seemed good enough to make Avenza happy. Previously I tried to install Google Play Store using this guide but got tons of errors: How to install the Google Play Store on any Android device

This time I only installed Google Play Services found here: Google Play services APKs - APKMirror and no errors and Avenza is happy with only that being installed.

Don't try to install Google Play store. You have to load apk apps manually. You only need Google Play Services:
