UPDATE 4/11/2024

Guys, the Magellan website updater is no longer working as the above date. I've verified this personally and will update when it's working again.

Magellan Troubleshooting website:

I just upgraded it on my G6 smart phone and it showed version 4.xx. This version of Avenza isn't supported on the AP as it's running Android Version 6.xx. The latest version of Avenza you can run on the AP is 3.14 and you can get that version directly from Avenza now vs having to get it via AKPure or some other Android app hosting service, which should give you peace of mind:

Here is the link to Avenza's page on the subject:

So I have some time to mess with the Yamaha Adventure Pro and have unlocked developer mode. Tutorial and guides to follow.

NOTE: DO NOT RESET YOUR ADVENTURE PRO AS IT WILL DELETE THE YAMAHA APP AND YOU'LL HAVE TO SEND YOUR UNIT BACK TO YAMAHA TO HAVE IT RESTORED. I DO HAVE THE APK FILE FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY RESET YOURS, JUST PM ME.

For now, if you want to get Android apps, you can't use Google Play but have to load the Amazon App onto your Adventure Pro (obviously need Wifi) app @ Amazon.com (let me know if link doesn't work for you).

Got Avenza loaded!

For now enjoy a handy and free Clinometer app for your rock crawling adventures

So I reinstalled Avenza but this time only installed one Google module and it seemed good enough to make Avenza happy. Previously I tried to install Google Play Store using this guide but got tons of errors: How to install the Google Play Store on any Android device

This time I only installed Google Play Services found here: Google Play services APKs - APKMirror and no errors and Avenza is happy with only that being installed.

Hey sorry to bring up such an old thread but did you do something special to get the compass? When I load up a map in avenza it works but I get a pop up telling me my device has no compass...

I still get the same notification but surprisingly it still navigates\tracks fine, whether that's because it's relying solely on GPS or if it's just a false notification, I don't know.

I also have done the no no of Factory Resetting my AP. If anyone has the apk file they could send me I would be greatly appreciative!
From what I'm reading in post #39 of this thread it will get it from Magellan if you connect it to Wi-Fi. If not @MassiveOverkill may have the .apk file to PM to you.

I'm currently fooling with my AP trying to get the Orux app on for my trip to WV in April. I got it on my 10 year old Samsung Tab A but that is giving me an "app is not compatible" message when trying to put Polaris Ride Command on it. I could probably buy a newer tablet that'd run Rude Command but I already had this one laying around.

Reading Massive's post about installing Google Services to install apps has given me hope I can get Orux on mine.
