For me, I've only taken it out for one ride since the second muffler. I cannot tell a difference in power loss.

In terms of bang for your buck here is my opinion on how much each of these reduced the noise.

1. Sound deadening - 5% (or possibly even 0%) not measurable.
2. 25g Clutch weights - 10%
3. second muffler - 85%

The power loss was quite noticeable going to 25g clutch weights.
Hope that helps

After several months, I have no excessive heat at all and it runs as it should. Although I did put a sheet of aluminum diamond plate above the new muffler to keep the floor from getting warm since it was completely exposed.

I have mine at the muffler shot now. Should be ready soon. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks great Darkness, I'm sure it's much quieter, especially at idle and lower speeds.

Well I went and added another muffler as you all have. I basically got the same results that everyone else did but I went to a little larger pipe and muffler. The reason for this is I was worried about creating to much back pressure. It quieted it down plus it gave me a little more performance. Its super quiet idling. And a good 3 to 4 DB lower up to around 20 mph according to my DB meter. I also took out the oxygen sensor and installed a back pressure meter. I only got a slight blip in back pressure with it hitting the rev. limiter. Almost Non-Existent. May explain why I picked up some performance. I have a DJ tune. I'm very happy with it now. My East coast riding will be much nicer now. My parts list. 1. 2" Walker Heavy Duty #21169 2. Summit Racing pipe SUM622194-409 3. 2 pc Summit Racing exhaust hanger STW-UH3W I choose to add 2 hangers For extra support. Holes were already on the frame. 4. New spark arrester tail pipe RZR/Sportsman aftermarket #1262123 Because I eliminated the factory one.

I feel it’s not the muffler that makes all the noise. I feel it’s the engine noise being amplified through the air box
You could be right on that theory.
The clutches being inches from you while driving and only a few mm of plastic to shield that noise is a large source of the noise, but the drone, especially when letting off the throttle is 100% from the muffler.

Has anyone that has done this mod had any issues yet? I created a thread but didn’t get any responses. I’m concerned that with aggressive riding consistently 30-65mph I might end up having issues. Any info is greatly appreciated since I have the muffler waiting to be installed, but am having second thoughts about creating too much restriction and heat at that rpm and speed.

I ended up adding a home made heat shield as it was getting the rear storage box very hot.. I don't care about looks, so I just used aluminum materials I had and fab'd up a quick shield between the second muffler and the frame. See my post #145.. My second muffer is very close to the plastic storage box, so wanted to make sure it wouldn't melt.
Otherwise, this is probably the best mod I have done.. Makes the Rmax much much more a pleasure to ride.
