Not that I've heard but you might be on to something.
Any number of fiberglass baffle repack kits out there.. some pretty inexpensive. Denni$ K1rk site has a sheet for 7 bucks. That and some stainless wire to attach it with... I bet will go a long way to quieting it down. .. and shouldn't cause your tune to be completely out of wack because of increased backpressure from another 2ft of tubing.

Got to remember 1st, your motor is primarily an air pump, with 3 sections (intake, head, exhaust) modify anything along that line, and you mess up the intended airflow.

Just wanted to share a little mod I did to my Rmax. I added a 1-¾ tail pipe. Machine is not only way quieter but also sounds way meaner, throaty-agressive. I used a 16ga mandrel U bend and then a 18ga straight piece and then welded the original tailpipe elbow back on. Made a hanger for it and also I removed spark arrestor screen (leave this in for maximum sound reduction) and had to remove plastic heat shied. Zero power loss maybe has little more if anything. Not to get off topic much, but are those new tender springs on last pic? I can't believe the big spaces between the coils on your tenders. Mine are like all squished together.

I actually revisited this mod and added a entire second muffler to my exhaust system. Came out really nice and it's now solid 50% quieter all around. Just the tailpipe extension before was better under very light load but still loud cruising down fire roads and on the go pedal. I don't know how to get a video to upload but I'll put on some more pictures. Second muffler I got on ebay was branded "AP" part number 709994 also had to build a custome heat shield. Gearhead86,

I wanted to thank you for your information on the extra muffler. I went down to my local muffler and fab shop with your information. They had the muffler in stock. They installed it but on my 2 seater, they had to install in "below" my existing muffler. It turn out great!!

Thank you again!!

McVays at 905 Bergin way, Sparks.. they are in with Washoe Metal Fab.. Chris did an excellent Job, $408.79 Grand total installed , parts and labor. Two hours labor, but I bet it will be less now that he has done one. It is so much quieter!! Just got it back today. Will go out in a about a week with the Better Half as we have been wearing Over the head ear muffs with radios.
