I have been a tire guy in my other life for many many years. Mailman was a Michelin dealer, goodyear dealer, firestone dealer, blah blah blah and I grew up in the tire business. Any tires that are bias ply nylon in the casing, will develop flat spots as they sit in one place, overnight even, particularly in cold environments. It takes a while for the tire to warm up and get rid of that slap. Tire dealers will tell you that Radial Play tires won’t do that… Bullshit. If the casing has nylon cord in it, it’s going to slap until it warms up, does it matter whether it’s bias ply or radial ply.
I totally agree with you, but I had my x4 off the ground and no weight on the tires, 22 psi instead of the 12 - 14 psi I'd normally run, one of the 27 x 9 has a noticeable flat spot, the other tires are fine.

So @davydo did you receive the replacement tire and get that installed? Did it solve the issue?

Well i got a set of Terrabites mounted to my X2. So far really like them! They solved most of my problems and a couple I didn’t know about, like making the machine easier to maneuver on pavement.

One thing I noticed is the machine now seems to rev higher at the indicated speeds. I’m not sure where this machine senses speed, but is it possible the larger tires are making the machine go actually faster than what’s indicated? So if I compare the old tires @ 40 MPH to the new tires @ 40 MPH, is it possible the new tires at the indicated 40 is actually going like 42 or more?

I had a tire sent to me flattened out like a like a paper donut but when they flattened it the crease what’s not in the center it was down by the sidewall it stretched the bead out so much it would not hold air unless you put 20 lbs or more of air to it. 2 years later still the same way and I can see that side of the tire has worn more from being higher. One of the others was like yours guess what still that way

I'll add to this...my factory tires on the X2 were horrible on the pavement, which, unfortunately is where I ride 90% of the time. I kept the factory tires/rims, found a used set of take off rims and bought the Sniper Interco 920's.
Night and day on the pavement. Smooth and handle great. However, every time I hop in and head down the road, I get the tire hop, especially bad at about 27 to 30 mph. It DOES go away after a few miles. I did a little test. I let it sit for a few days and then jacked it up and spun the tires. Flat spot city. Leaving it on jacks for a day...flat spots went away, so I know the tires aren't defective. Still bugs the crap out of me since a lot of time I only go less than a mile for my errand which means I feel it literally every time I ride. Sounds like the terrabytes do it also. Sigh. I think the factory tires did it also, but the tread was so aggressive that one didn't notice the flat spots over the otherwise horrible ride on pavement.

I may seriously look into actual car/light truck tires for my next set of "street" tires.

As mentioned, overall I give high marks to the Snipers...but I just don't like the flat spots that happen.

I have not had any flat spots on my Terrabites. I now have a few hundred miles on them and I’m running factory pressure.

Do you run your machine on pavement or dirt?....I don't notice the flat spots on dirt. Only when I head down the road on pavement. What is the factory pressure?

...also...my speedo WAS fairly accurate with the original dirt commanders. We have those speed limit radar signs in our neighborhood that show your speed...before, when mine said 25 on the speedo, the ACTUAL speed, according to the speed sign, and my onboard GPS...was 24 mph, so the indicated speed was a little high.

Now, with the Snipers...I am THREE mph off...when it says 30 on the speedo, I'm really going 27. Speed signs and GPS.

I also notice the higher revs at indicated speed. I think that you will find that you are going SLOWER than the indicated speed if you are revving higher, if it's like mine.

I run my machine on both. Quite a bit of pavement and they seem very god so far.

The factory pressure I believe is 13 / 14.

So are your Snipers taller or shorter giving you the 3MPH difference? Compared to my GPS I’m now within 1 MPH.

They are shorter. Full 3 mph difference. Speedo says 30, I'm going 27.

My Snipers are 3 mph off as well at that speed. When I got them installed they did look a bit shorter than the commanders

Sniper and Tundra,
What size snipers did you buy?

Hey I apologize just seen this. Yes they sent me a replacement tire for free after I sent them a video of the problem. I also ordered a factory wheel and mounted the new tire to it and now have the defective tire as a spare. Worked out really well. Yes it corrected the problem.

I bought 4 new terribites last March and noticed the flat spot bounces. Now 300 miles later still there contacted RMAtv, Tusk and told them the problem. Told me to give them a video of flat spots. So I put on Jack raised tire off ground and put water underneath. Slowly lowering and spinning and tire high point touched water and flat spot didn't. So tire was out of round. At first RMATV/Tusk agreed and I had to work with my dealer to get replacements. Well that didn't work because dealer wasn't happy to do this. After going back and forth with dealer and Tusk, the dealer said that new were to be shipped to him ASAP. Never happened. Now Tusk emailed me saying I have to send tires to them, not on rim and they will then determine if tires are defective. If they are will send replacements to me. Nothing was said if not defective how my old tires will be returned to me. I called dealer about this and he told me new tires are on the way to me express delivery. Tusk agreed at first from my video that mine were defective and out of round. This is from
