I think its pretty discusting that SxS oem haven't clued in by now (all the years of production past) that the majority of these operate where registration and a plate must be mounted as a requirement. Much like cars, suv's, truck, 4x4's and even true off road Jeep's. The lack of a designate plate location and or mount plate for the required plate is a must have by now in production.

I'd extend that to signal lights with is also so easy to implement as I and may other do drive through town roads now and then which require indicators. I am able to get away with my arm out but come on build them in now already. Its dirt cheap to do as the front only has no lights on most that can't be converted to Wink, back has them.

Cage/bar behind drivers seat. I also have a factory hard back window, so the plate sits INSIDE the back window. It's lighted and everything to be street legal according to Utah laws (illuminated always, etc.). And...I might add...it was a real pain to get it mounted and wired and working there, but it was the only place I knew I wouldn't knock it off or it would interfere with anything. (like game baskets, spare tires, tailgate operation, etc.).

I agree with Tripplec...these manufacturers need to be aware (more aware) that a whole lot of these are requiring license plates and they should just include a feasable mounting area/location or even bracket somewhere. And not just hange a few wires from the back where the plate will surely get torn off, make a REAL location.

Done ranting.

Edit: I guess I'm not done ranting. The whole street legal kit needs to be added from the factory even if it adds a couple hundred to the price. I did mine myself because I hate the way other people hack and wire stuff in and it's done right, but it was done in NOVEMBER (of 2020 right after I bought it) in the freezing cold. Sure would have been nice to just buy it with the turn signals, horn, license plate mount, etc. already on there. And I wouldn't have given a flying fart about the extra money had it been installed from the factory. I likely paid more than that for the parts to do it myself.

Ok, now I'm done.

Maybe they need to consider a high end model like the LE, to come std with street legal options.
I could see where some guys wouldn't want it , so I don't think it should come std on every model.

The license plate bracket would be nice , but there are probably multiple sizes and styles of plates depending on the state. It may be a challenge to come up with something universal.
The location would also effect accessories , as depending how you mod the location may be inconvenient/useless.

Not disagreeing, just tossing those thoughts out.

The plate size I see in photos are the same as here on ATV's & SxS's , motorcycles as well. Its no big deal even if the hole spacing was off a tad. A simple in between adapter piece fixes it. Lights are cheap flasher and signal switch is the more integration aspect. They're doing it on motorcycles since...yeah. This is so much easier with space galour!!

All above true but with no mountable spot provided it becomes an issue for all. Others can easily customize or move the plate accordingly. If the mounting plate is bolted then easily removed. Something is a must have since its a legal requirement to have one where used. Even my off road trails I pay for or provided free mandate I have registration and insurance to ride on them. Other than farmers and the like on private property not going along roads were all affected.

Road legal light signal by now is a must have as many drive down some highway road as well as secondary road to other off the highway trails. Brake lights are not enough anymore.

Just say as both these a very cheap add on items at the point of assembly.

2 seat or 4 seat? Not sure if there is a difference with the dump bed on the 2-seater, but on my RMAX4 I mounted the license plate on the frame below the tailgate on the right side. Haven't had any issues yet with mud or rocks bending it.

i had a similar issue on my canam. Every piece of plastic on the rear of my machine is textured, and in michigan we don't have plates. We have stickers that need flat surfaces or else you are SOL with it staying on. Thankfully mine comes with a license plate bracket, so i cut a piece of lexon, drilled holes, and then mounted it to the license plate frame. Stuck the stickers on that and i'm golden.
Wish michigan would go to a plate like other states have done.

I made a bracket from sheet metal, sprayed it black, and bolted it to the existing holes in the frame. A license plate light is part of the requirements here to be street legal, so the LED that's part of the Ryco kit is centered above the plate.
