What is difference between 26x8-12 & 26x9-12?

Yamaha recommends 26x8-12 tires for front. Can't find that size in Maxis Big Horn. However, Maxis makes that tire in 26x9-12. Will latter tire fit on Wolverine? What is difference between 2 sizes.

Thanks!

One is 8 inches wide, the other is 9 inches wide, and yes, the 26x9x12 will work

Tire size goes like this: first number is tire height, second is tire width, and 3rd is wheel size. So a 26x9x12 is 26 tall 9 wide and goes on as 12 inch wheel.

You should also be aware that some of those numbers are subjective. The 26 inch OEM tires that come with a Wolverine are not a true 26 inches and actually the 25 inch Maxis Big Horns ( originals, not 2.0) are very close to the same size as the cheap 26's. There are a lot of good threads on here about tires and the pro's and con's of going to bigger tires.

My 27" Sedonas are 3" taller than the stock 26" Bighorns! Seriously. They're also 1" wider than the stock tires on all four corners.

I have not noticed that they rub at all.

If they're like the stock Bighorns they'll probably be closer to 27" tall than 28". They might even be shorter than my 27" Sedonas which don't rub, but they're only 9" wide-not 11".

If your question is about running 11" wide tires on the front (in that height)...maybe somebody else can chime in to answer that.
