A general thread for everybody to shout out about the new accessories they got for their RMAX.
Yes and no. You need some kind of baffle. The pods will make the mount more robust as they mount to the door frame. There was a post not too long ago where someone saw speakers mounted to the knockouts with a baffle. They had to use the knockouts as the hole is too big to mount a 6.5 with the knockout removed. Check out my build thread for measurement pics.Do you have to have those speaker pods to put speakers in the door? I was under the impression you could pop out the insert in door and put a speaker in it.

therebel19 said it well in his post above. The pods are extremely nice though and make installation very simple. The Yamaha stereo system may be expensive but it is basically plug and play. That along with the fit and finish being amazing make it totally worth it.Do you have to have those speaker pods to put speakers in the door? A very common item mounted behind the cab of many pickup trucks and even big rigs. You can hang all kinds of items off them, run lumber etc up over them above the cab etc.For those of us who don't know, what is a headache rack?

Yes I made it. It’s just polished with a wire wheel to clean it and remove welding slag/spatter. When I’m done with the upper cargo rack portion I’ll have it all coated in black Linex.Looks awesome! It looks like it is stainless steel. Did you build it?
