Revelations on stretching the 2025 RMAX4, framed upper door insights, and other possibilities

We all know the LW (Long Wheelbase) RMAX4 has the engine out back just like the RMAX2. There wasn't enough time to pull plastics off and see if the self-contained transmission was also back there or if it was left mid-ship. The 5 GALLON (caps because I screwed up and stated 5 quarts in my video) storage bin between the front seats should have been an obvious clue that nothing mechanical is there, but you never know.

The additional front driveshaft extension confirms this.

The engine and CVT intakes both get extensions to make it to the back.

I can already see guys wanting to know if they can make the front of the 2025 RMAX4 LW be converted to seat 3 for a 5 seater of if the future Viking will possibly be based on this platform or a complete redesign. I do see possibilities. The entire front center console tunnel could be removed, shifter relocated and a bench seat possibly installed.

Here's the updated EPS assembly compared to the older one:

Good news is that the door frame hasn't changed between the 2024 and 2025 so the future Yamaha OEM framed upper doors probably include brackets meaning they should work on all RMAX models, including previous years for the front. We haven't seen rear framed uppers yet so it will be interesting to see if they follow the same design as the front.

Are these the soft upper doors that we've seen on the internet that was posted by Big Pine Motorsports a few months ago that stay attached to the lower doors so you can open and close them without removing the upper window?

The same ones I showed in my video ;)

They are but there's nothing on the internet about them other than that video, even the Yamaha Powersports website doesn't show them. I'm ready to buy some uppers and these look very promising.

They are compatible with all RMAX2 and 2021+ X2's (RMAX4 uppers to come).

Awesome and thank you! I was able to track some down at a Yamaha dealer and they are shipping them to me. I also noticed that they may cause me to get new side mirrors. My current mirrors just wrap around the cage frame while these doors seem to have a large/thick molded seal (similar to my OEM glass windshield). I am thinking I may need to get new mirrors that are compatible with these new upper-side doors.
