So the base model doesn't come with the switch. But can be purchased from Yamaha. Some, like me, made their own using a 3 position rocker switch.

 

Ahhhhhh im lookin at the x2 rspec does this have the same thing or it is rmax only?

Purchased mine from offroaddesignworks on ebay also. 89 bucks. It makes a difference for those without it. The seller does a great job with the switch, its back lit blue to match, plug and play with a instruction video. My first upgrade having the base model. Here is a link.

It’s essentially the same technology Yamaha uses in the R1. Drive by wire throttle adjustment.

Right behind the firewall, I think it’s 9, 10mm bolts. It comes with instructions, easy plug and play.

 

Hello, I'm looking at a slightly used 2021 Rmax 1000 rspec. It has no drive mode switch. So I can get one of these plugs and wire it into an existing harness and just that quick have the 3 driving modes like the sport xtr etc. on the rspec. That would be an easy upgrade.

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but yes. You can even get the Yamaha switch and its plug in play if you want. The harness pigtail you need to plug into is already behind the dash.
