Are you guys changing the oil filter too? I don't drain the oil cooler lines. I drain the oil tank, engine, and change the oil filter. 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 quarts is just about spot on for me. Maybe a tad too much but so far no ill effects.

I run yamalube synthetic. It may not be the best but I got a good deal on it.

I'm starting to think as long as you put four quarts in, you're good. I thought there was a thread on here about the advantages of a dry sump system and how oil level wasn't as important as a wet system as long as you were close to the correct capacity. However, I can't find it.
