Unfortunately it appears that the aluminum skid plate bolts to the steel plate and closes all the maintenance openings in the steel skid plate so you don't get to select the aluminum you get steel always and aluminum in addition.

It doesn't say it bolts to the steel skids it mite. It would be dumb but ya never know. It does have two holes left open I assume for oil changes. Its $500 for the aluminum skid plate I perfer steel on a utv or 4x4 but like the aluminum skid plates on sport quads for the weight savings. I am sure the after market will come out with skids aluminum and plastic fairly soon.

The steel plates are welded in. Have you ever seen a welded in plate or component from a manufacturer that gets removed for an aftermarket or accessory? Usually things get welded on or in because they are considered part of the structure and not intended to be removed. I suspect it may be the same here. No on line orders, you can purchase through a dealer only.
