WNC1000, eventually i will make a custom alloy door for quick access and use the space for storage ( the reason i compressed the battery and comp in tight ). that will be down the track a while, i still have too many other things to get done on it. the bigger jobs being front bar and rails, and rear bar..
I keep about 40 Lbs of tools in a waterproof bag in that space with thumbscrews for quick access, but now you’ve got me thinking I could do more with it lol

I just realized you were referring the bash plate or skid plate! I do have a bunch of stuff under seat in a dry bag but tows straps line the bottom to take the grunt.
I have a 1/2 absorbant mat under my battery. The battery isn't directly touching the skid plate but I figured the mat adds extra cushioning and would absorb anything that might leak out in the event of a rupture.

Did you cut the “ear” that extends to the back off or did you leave it and leave the bolt out? Been considering trimming mine.

I’m kind of in the same boat. I left the ear and use a thumbscrew there as well. It wouldn’t really make a difference if it was gone, but it does make it more of a pain to get that part on and off. I haven’t decided if I want to trim it off yet.

Thanks for posting the front/rear axle weights. Your onboard air is so....Aussie. Love it! Did you craft the compressor mounting plate and intake extension, or is there a kit available?

got started on the front bar today.
the factory bar didnt look like it would offer much protection for our type of driving cross county through vegetation.
i wanted a bar out the front that would allow us to push over small trees etc without hitting the plastics first..

This front bar on an X2 works very well for pushing through brush including small trees.
Hope this helps.

so its been a while, work is getting in the way of rmax build.

I was in the middle of starting the front bar build when i realized as i didnt have the front screen fitted i could not finish the main bar hoop that will meet the a pillar.
so i jumped from the bar to the screen fitting.
long story short, i pre ordered my screen months (years) before my machine showed up, in that time satv had changed there mind on the correct part number my rmax 4 should have.
so i was sent the wrong one, its a long way to send it back so i decided to bit the bullet and make it fit. photos attached , seems to fit up ok, the lower is the same, it was just the upper that was a pita. I had to cut a lot out especially in the corners. but its on and working ok so far.
so the kit i fitted was FWS-Y-RMAX-70. and i fitted it to a 2022 rmax-4.

in the end i didnt like how the lower bar worked out with the bends, so i scrapped it and have started a new hoop rather than starting at the winch i have started the top loop that will finish at the a pillar, dont have many pics of that atm so here are a couple - note the lower loop will not be used now.
i just need to get back into it but i hate bending pipe.
