UPDATE2: Guys, you really don't have to respond with the survey below. We know it's due to overfilling.
X4 owners, please chime in.
So far two of us (more have come forward) have experienced PCV oil accumulating in the intake tract to where it will collect in the clear drain check tube. Please check yours and report:
1-If your X2(new model)/X4 is exhibiting this problem
2-How many miles/hours you have on your vehicle
3-What oil brand/formula/viscosity you're running
4-What kind of running do you do, ie; high speed or regular trail use
5-Are you making sure you're checking the oil level properly, see image below
6-If you reported it to the dealer and if so what did they say
Please take pictures if possible
If it's not being caused by high blow by, then possibly a baffle needs to be installed and/or a redesigned/modified airbox to allow oil to collect closer to the throttle bodies.
Me,
1-Yes
2-2700 miles
3-Mobil 1 0W40 EU formula
4-Mixed with high-speed highway runs
5-Yes, checked as per manual
6-Not to dealer yet, but to corporate
Initially noticed wetness below the intake tract:
But in the past week or so have noticed dripping from the bottom where the CVT fluid inspection tube is located, will get pictures/video soon.
