Might be a crazy idea, but I'm trying real hard to find a way NOT to have to purchase the OEM rear gla$$ window. If I'm looking at this correctly, it appears as though there are two pieces where Im seeing a row of screws?. Anyways, if so, I was wondering if you thought it would somehow be possible to replace those screws with a long hinge. I currently have the OEM soft rear window and it works fine. However i sure do like the idea of a solid window and I really need full access to the rear. If the poly rear window could be modified to be openable, I think that would be a real winner!

Your thoughts?
Im sure some one with some good old fashion American ingenuity could make it happen. You'd have to find a releaseable type clamp for the bottom half. You would also probably have to cut it to eliminate the overlap. I have no clue what type of hinge would be good to use. Definitely something I wouldn't play with doing. Thats just me though.

Picked up my new wheel/tire setup yesterday when I dropped off the RMAX to get the 1st service done and have the front diff leak fixed. I can't wait to get it back and mount them up. They are 14x7 5+2 Tusk Teton beadlocks in Black/Gunmetal with 30x10r14 Maxxis Liberty tires mounted on them. I also have 1" wheel spacers to put on the rear. They should make for a nice square set up that is a tad bit wider in the back just like I measured on the stock wheels and tires. I will get measurements of the front and rear for everybody when I get them on. View attachment 89433 View attachment 89434
How do those tires do in the yard. I have an XTR with the carnage tires and they tear the grass up pretty good. Looking for a decent tire to run around the house and street and have the carnage’s to swap out when we hit the trails.

I don't ever need to drive across my lawn or anything at home but I don't think that I would have an issue at all if I did. I did pull my X4 on the lawn a couple times and I had similar radials on it and never hurt anything but there was no turning. Pulled it straight in then backed it straight out.

I got my interior light kit installed the other day and my rear bumper flood lights installed today. Way cool. The interior light kit is a pretty simple straight forward install. Using the OEM circuit already running to the rear made the bumper lights a pleasant install as well. Everything came out super sweet.

I'm thinking about wiring the same lights into the oem reverse lights built in. What do you think?

They are much better on a separate switch. Me and a couple buds went for a night ride on Friday and we had a blast running them during normal cruising. We found ourselves enjoying looking in the mirrors and having everything lit up behind us. We even found ourselves talking about how cool it was while we were riding. Ya if you need extra light while backing up it is an extra switch to push but thats a small sacrifice to use them when ever you want.

Love your setup!

I'm interested in the same windshield and rear window, but I worry about restricted access to the back. Do you use the storage area behind the tailgate? Any chance you could share a pic of the back with the tailgate opened up?
Sorry man. I don't know how I missed this but I was just checking out your build thread and I see you ended up going with the OEM glass window. It looks awesome. As well as the rest of your rig. I came close to going with the glass myself but I was so afraid that I'd end up backing up in some tight spot in the mountains and putting a tree limb through it with it being all the way at the back. LOL.

Finally slapped on my fox hitch cover. The original hole for the hitch pin is way close to the end of the insert and it poked way out so I shoved it in all the way and marked, then drilled a second set of holes so it sits almost right against the frame. These things are heavy duty rubber so I drilled the holes slightly small so the hitch pin is held way tighter than when inserted into the existing holes so it doesn't rattle or mover around at all. Just one of those little fun things.

Project red-be-gone is underway. I removed the stickers off of my hood today. I managed to get them off clean. I had been hesitant to remove them because I had a bad experience with the red stickers on the side. I'm gonna start a thread in the general discussion on the issue I had shortly. I've been meaning to do it for a while but I have been a bit butt hurt about it. LOL. I thought I'd better let people know though.

No worries! I’m glad I went with the OEM front and rear glass, but like you said ...one misjudgement in my depth perception while backing up, and I could be putting a tree branch through the rear window. LOL! Ah well, that’s why I have insurance.

I’ve had my eye on your build thread for a while, and it’s cool to see how far your rig has progressed since you brought it home. Congrats on makin that RMAX your own, and thanks for replying.

Thanks man! It's been a blast to build but you're having the same fun so you know what it's all about. I just can't wait for the snow to melt in my mountains so I can actually get out and enjoy all the work I've done. LOL. I'll be keeping my eyes on your thread as well. Keep up the good work man. Can't wait to see where she ends up.

Thats very nice. I merely have an insert in all the time with a 2" ball. Its the only real solid pull from point or to be pull out from another vehicle if needed. Getting the fancy insert out may sound like one involving words while in the situation. Knowone else around to hear them words....LOL

I see the ones with brake and signal lights which are functional if someone wanted additional visual alerting for tailgating people. I don't ride in a ground, hence not an issue.

That machine is way way TOO CLEAN to have gone anywhere noteworthy. Down the driveway doesn't count.

Cheers!!

Did you get the side stickers off or not? They are still on in the pic. Here's a tip you may already know. Wait until it is warm and sunny park it outside for a couple of hours. Then use your wife's hair dryer and go over them. Start at the edge using the hair drier and pull off. Go slow and once they start coming off, spray a little WD-40 to get the glue off. I'm still debating taking the decals off the XT-R. I did take all the warnings off the first week I had it but I left the assembled in the USA sticker on the glove box door.

Ok. Then, its hard to look at such showroom machines. Not a spec of dust. I am just back from a local ride. I'll cross 13,000km next out. 40km to go if I remember. Lol Not clean either

I don't know why some of you all want to remove stickers and make it No Name. Most cannot read nor see the sticker passing on the trail and if you parked. Then why would you not want someone to see and know you're driving an RMAX.

I am lost on that but not relevant to me anyway.

I don't need to read a sticker to know a RZR is a RZR, or know a Teryx is a Teryx when I see one. It says Yamaha on the back and thats good enough for me. If anybody asks I'll tell em.😉

I was just looking these over and over coffee figure out how you're having such clean particleless spotless machine in the garage.

The clean one stays inside for show and you got another in the driveway, trailer dirty or cleaner. With TWO Rmax's it can be done. Wow...
