MassiveOverkill - I should try that - I know you suggested that in the PM, I didn't try the OEM weights. It kind of sucks pulling everything apart to get at the clutch, but it would be nice to get that speed up! I'm heading out on a giant hunting trip soon, I will try and get to this before the trip and get back to you all. Thanks for the quick reply
My memory is terrible you said recommend 18gr weights but 20gr are recommended for stock tires, however both will achieve the same top speed.

Once the clutch closes all the way around 45-50 mph then you are simply at the mercy of how much power you have to propel you. Stock tires are somewhat slower than the larger, we consistantly see 60-64 mph with 28" tires with 18 and 20 gr weights, as mentioned weight of weights do not affect top speed. So what rpm are you at at that speed? Any idea? is it screaming at you?

In meantime watch this, it is more about polaris but the physics work exactly the same way.

Todd,

I was wrong - 20gr weights - I changed it above. Thanks. Something else I may try is a new belt - mine should be fine at 5000km's, but a possibility I should rule out.
You have 5000 km on this machine? And you recently did these mods?

Two things, that belt surely has some wear so that can account for it and that engine is probably getting tired a bit. And lastly your tire size

I ran with three on my rhino for the longest and to be honest I do not know how it broke off, been too long but what I can tell you is stop using torque wrenches on anything but head bolts and rod bolts, way too many people are breaking bolts in all kinds of stuff on these, use an 1/4" impact and know when to stop on these small ones, use a 1/2" impact on the nuts holding the clutches on
