I was curious how the stock radio sounds, and if anyone knows of any aftermarket stuff coming down the line.

The Yamaha radio sounds very good. We mostly use it when were stopped with friends because you need to turn up the volume way up to hear it which we don't like. We did not get the base reflex speaker or the additional under dash auxiliary speakers which was just more radio than we wanted!

So for our intended use it works great but I suggest you try one before buying. It's the same radio that is used in the Viking.
Wet sounds stealth. Better than the ssv works one I think. Heard both. Went with the stealth 6. Machine is still overpowering loud though.
The cvt whine hopefully will be addressed by Yamaha, it is too loud

Especially between 32-37 MPH on my machine!

right, it's a high pitch at certain rpm/speed, I didn't remember what speed
i just use a water resistant bluetooth speaker and use my phone or ipod through aux jack

Lol, I've been doing that too!.. At least until I get the time to design and fiberglass something nice.

Yo. Got it started. Typical UTV radio install but I thought I would post my progress in case anyone was interested. Kind of slow going since I was playing PIG with my kids so I only worked in between shots :)

Ran the wire up the roll bar. Was going to fish through the bar but the 4 conductor heavy duty wire I am using is too thick for that. Some velco straps and wire loom made it look better

Found a neat little rugged 2 channel amp. The amp simply receives bluetooth and powers speakers. Its super rugged looking. 100 bucks shipped.

Ran power and ground to battery. That was a quick run. Put the power and ground through vinyl tubing like Yamaha does.

Here is the 4 conductor automotive wire I am using for the speakers. Probably overkill but I won't have to worry about rocks or branches screwing it up.

Ran the speaker wire down through where the roll bar goes through the hood panel and zip tied it behind the frame right above the glove box.

Soldered and heat shrinked the connections. I also taped them afterwords. The amp will be in the dash cubby behind a switch panel I am making. The amp power and switched power are both wired to a switch as to not introduce any battery draw when not running.

Some wake board speakers mounted by each persons head should be loud enough.

Some more pics.

I pulled out the Jenson amp. It worked ok but didn't have any independent control, volume, bass, treble. Kind of missed that so I used a JBL marine radio.

Here is the finished product. I used the anodized aluminum trim piece from a Viking stereo kit and cut a piece of ABS plastic from an old broken toolbox I had. I filed a curve in the top and bottom so the marine radio would fit. Wired in a switch so I could turn it off completely and avoid battery drain.

Wake board speakers sound pretty good. Nice and loud.

I was thinking about a similar setup on the radio
Looks good. My wet sounds stealth 10 will be in tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint

I looked at those. Appears to be a good product.

Ran the SSV works speaker bar in my old machine. Nice product but didn't like looking up to change the tunes. Let us know how you like it and how it sounds.

Installed it today. Built very rugged, sounds great and is super loud. Fits in the wolverine great. It is also super simple to install. 2 wires to the battery and you are done.

Sounds like a great option!

Have any pictures?

I am anxious to see how you mounted it.

Also, did you wire straight to the battery or put in a switch inline as to not cause any battery drain?

Hey Ford, would you please post a pic or two of your wetsounds mount?
Nice setup Wolfie.
That is a nice little radio with bluetooth capability and it is priced right. I like the external usb port you installed too. Is the lighted switch connected to the unit?
I'm about to order the Wetsound 10 Ultra, can someone tell me the size of the front roll bar? 1.75" or 2"?
