You will need mounting plate number 2MB-F28M0-V0-00
Just wondering what's involved to mount a winch..is there provisions there for it..or do we need a mounting bracket kit or something..?..
Haven't seen a Wolverine in person yet
The kit from yamaha comes with the mounting plate, hardware, and wiring. You could just purchase that, then drill new holes for the Superwinch if needed. However, many aftermarket winches share a similar bolt pattern.Anyone know of an aftermarket winch plate yet, need one to handle a Superwinch Terra 45S. I've been Googling but no luck finding one I wonder if the Viking plate will work on the Wolverine.
I spoke to a KFI representative today. They have the Wolverine mounts produced and had to finish the installation manual. They are going to be boxing them on Monday 6/8 and can be ordered over the phone starting that day. I was interested in the mount because the stock one will not accommodate my Pro Vantage 4000s. He said even with the KFI it will require drilling. He did not give me an exact price but mentioned that it was about $50.Dealer told me that kfi will have an aftermarket plate ready in a week or so
My factory mounting plate appears to just be a normal gloss black painted finish.I ordered my winch mount from KFI today. It was $50 and the guy said it would ship out today. Last week they told me that they were produced but the installation manual was not ready yet. The rep said I could order one on monday because they would be ready. I called and the manual is still not complete but he said he would sell me one, I would just have to install without the instructions. Should mount up pretty easy. I have a bigger winch so I am already planning on drilling new holes.
I got to thinking after ordering it and wonder what type of finish this thing will have on it. The bars on the Wolverine have that nice course black finish that is resistant to scratching.
Can anyone who already has the Yamaha OEM mount tell me if that mount has the same finish as the bumper and cage?
