When out get a ride yesterday in my 2021 r spec I noticed a vibration at a certain rpm it’s at about 15mph lower rpm. I don’t remember it being there before. I had the sheave apart I am thinking maybe I did something wrong when putting in the tinkseal. Like maybe to much grease. I know for sure it’s not a tire issue. It’s definitely at the same rpm every time. Any ideas

Take it out of four wheel drive! LOL I remember getting a vibration on my Rhino and it was the front u joints. Reach in there and see if you can shake the front drive shaft.

At 280 miles I am doubtful on that. I think it has something to do with the primary sheave because I don’t remember it doing that before I put the tinkseal in there. I could be wrong but I think I would have noticed that. Maybe I just need to get it up to speed with high RPMs to get all the grease where it belongs. I haven’t had it over 20mph after I did the clutch grease.

Well I went out and looked at the front driveshaft today. I sure as hell hope it’s not that it seems to be all right but I have a lot worse vibration in four-wheel-drive even worse than normal. It looks like you’ll have to pull everything out seat’s floorboards all that fun stuff just to get the drive shaft. If I remember correctly I only have to take out the driver side floor board.

Taking the drivers floorboard out sucks. I have done mine 4 times now and I hate it. It is such a dumb design because everything on that side has to come out plastic wise.

Tell me about it I couldn’t even get the passenger side out. I think I am just got to put up with the vibration even though it’s going to drive me nuts. At about 5500 miles the front u joint went out on my Polaris sportsman I put a new one in and it was like driving a new machine. One of these days I will get it out of there and when I do it will be sent away to be balanced then the 4x4 shake will probably go away also.

This vibration is getting worse so I looked at the drive shaft I can feel a little play in it not sure if it’s normal. I also jacked up the front and the driver’s said ankle is making noise and is not smooth like the passenger one. Maybe this is my problem I have less than 400 miles on it dam.

I noticed on the Rhino (I believe these front diffs are similar) that when jacked up and you would turn the passenger wheel it was smooth, when you would turn the driver it had some resistance and you could feel what felt like gears spinning. I researched this and found it to be normal as how it was designed. Check your diff oil to start. I know the u-joints can cause a vibration also.

I am going to pull the front driveshaft one of these days. There is a place about 40 miles from my house that balances them. I will take it there have them look it over and balance it. I am hoping this will take the shake out of the 4 wheel drive also. And yes you are right about the resistance at the drivers wheel I checked it on my friends new one it is the same. I just changed the differential oil and motor oil it’s all good. This will be my last non synthetic out change. They had Mobil 1 European 0w40 on sale at Walmart 23.99 per gallon great deal bought the last 2.

The vibration is still getting worse with more miles. It’s time to tear into this I think I will start looking at the CVT first. Anyone have any advice on what exactly what to be looking for. Obviously the belt needs to be inspected looking for damage or cracks. The primary was just apart and I weighed each one of the rollers separately they are ok. I have never messed with any thing on the secondary so I’m kind of lost in that area.

I am not sure what you mean about tight but I am thinking it might be a driveshaft problem. In neutral I can’t feel any vibration but it’s hard to hold a steady RPM. I can feel a slight vibration in neutral but I can’t hold the throttle at that point of vibration

It’s like the perfect machine except for that annoying vibration. It’s almost enough for me to trade it in but all of the side x sides have issues. It has to be that front drive shaft lol

Tire pressure?
Alignment good?
Jack the front up and rock the tire.
Wheel Bearing? Roll it while it's up.
Check tires for busted belts. I had 2 rears with unusual wrinkle in sidewall... busted belt
Could have been there the whole time and you just never noticed and paid more attention since you did the service.

I really believe it’s something in the drivetrain the vibration was at a different speed with the heavier weights I switched back to the lighter weights now. I inspected the belt but maybe I missed something there. I am wandering if I shouldn’t try a new belt. What is the best one to buy?

It could be the belt, a couple of years ago I was out riding my sled and it started to develop a bad vibration and it got worse as the day wore on and it got so bad I had to stop and figure out what was causing it. I thought maybe ice on the tunnel rubbing on the track but there was none so just out of habit I thought I'd check the belt and I could see where it was starting to delaminate. I changed it with a new one and the vibration was gone, luckily I caught it before it blew.

If you're going to try a new belt I'd go factory.

Well I jacked up the ass end yesterday and I didn’t feel the vibration. I knew that its drivers side rear tire had a high spot in it but that tire is really out of wack. I never had good luck with out around tires. The last set I bought for my golf cart 3 out of 4 were bad and they would not exchange them. I believe motor sports is where I bought them. Anyway a friend has the same machine might try switching it out for a test ride. There was always a clunk on the high spot but no vibration. I think I will start by changing air pressure first I am only running 7psi right now.

I agree with what others are saying about 4wd mode creating vibrations. Mine only vibrates when in 4wd. It's very slight, but noticeable. My new Chevy is the same way. It seems to be in a bind on anything other than slippery surfaces while in 4wd. So, I keep the wolverine in 2wd unless 4wd is absolutely needed.
