Wow!!! Sold out! Pre-order for the next batch!
Emailed him, and tried to keep an eye on his website. Never heard a word back from him. I guess I’ll explore other options. 49° high today in Moab. They sure would’ve helped. Too bad.

I posted to the FB groups and here immediately when it went live. You have to realize these guys got flooded with emails, many of them legit, but many of them asking about information that's been published here and on FB, which people simply are too lazy to read. I'm not saying you're one of those guys, but it makes it really hard to wade through them all. If you can't wait for the next batch there are other options, but if you have your mind set on these, that's why he's making them available for preorder. It's really hard to determine how many people are serious about purchasing a product until they actually order.
I would assume that since I told him that I rode with you and him for a couple days, and had seen the doors, and since I didn’t ask any questions, just asked him to notify me when I could preorder or order, that he would know I was serious.
Maybe he didn’t bother to read the email.
Anyway, I’ve preordered now. Hopefully they’ll show up in a few weeks.

I've rode with a TON of people this year. I honestly cannot remember all of them. It must be at least 50+ new people and I've probably forgotten half of them from being so busy. I think the pre order will solve any future issues and sorry you didn't get in on the first batch.

To help you remember.
Obviously you’re not responsible for whether or not I got in on the first batch. I bet they’re going to look nice on my car. I think I’ve figured out the mirror issue. I’ll post pics when I get them installed.

Ron, I've been guiding so much this year that I have to go back through all my text messages, emails, FB messages, and Wolverine Forum messages to find out who's who. I talk to so many people on a daily basis about Yamaha stuff. I cannot remember everyone who's asked me to give them a head's up when the doors would go live and that number is a fraction of those who've probably asked Greg or Andy. Emails are one thing........you can group them together. If someone communicates via messenger/text/forum, it's really hard to organize those communications.

Greg's main business is swamped. This is rare. He's got tons of orders and the new norm of not being able to maintain a labor force and suppliers never being able to be consistent with raw materials is ever-present. Believe it or not, it usually takes him awhile to get back to even me and I don't hold it against him because I know how busy and understaffed he is. There's also the tornado that took half his property out. Imagine being that busy and then to have to rebuild your warehouse.

This is probably half the times I've been to Beacher Rock this year showing people around. A lot of white RMAX4 LE's too.

I never asked you to give me a heads up. I asked Greg, or whoever watches his inbox. No big deal, honestly. I bought a set, and I’ll get them when they come in.

by the way, you’re a champ. You spent 3 unbelievable days riding with my son and I, and showing us around your neck of the woods. I really can’t thank you enough. You should change your handle from Massive Overkill, to Massively Underrated.

When the RMAX2 ones are released will they work with an Alpha windshield and a Super ATV rear window?

I realize there may be some trimming of the seal needed but is there anything else that would need changed?
I spent a few days riding with Greg of UORP, and Romeo in late spring, when Greg seemed to be in late development and testing. I have an Alpha windshield on my car. Greg studied it pretty closely, as I believe it was the first time he’d seen one. He didn’t appear to believe there would be any issues with my windshield mounts.
On the other hand, my Seizmik mirror mounts were absolutely going to interfere.
I’m hoping I’ll be able to rotate them all the way forward to make them work. If not I’ll need to find mirrors that will work.
The rear of my car is a whole other problem. I have everything under the sun mounted to my C pillars. I spend a lot of time out in the desert, or deep up into the mountains, and alone, so items like a spare tire, fire extinguisher, and extra fuel are mandatory. I’m legally required to have a flag in some of the places I ride. Figuring out how to add doors and a rear window for winter this year will definitely be a challenge.

The antenna mount will have to be clocked so the antenna is at the rear of the roll cage. Minor trimming should accomodate the spare tire mounting brackets if needed at all.
Those were my exact thoughts. A rear window is the bigger challenge. I want the Super ATV hard window that DialTone 301 has, but I can’t imagine a way I’d be able to make it work. I’m either going to need to go with a soft window, or just leave the net.

Installation instructions for the Unique Off Road Products framed upper doors:

Keep in mind that after the weatherstripping breaks in you may have to perform micro-adjustments and maybe remove a spacer or two and the spacers are also provided to accomodate variations from one RMAX to another. I didn't have to use my heat gun on this install and if you install on a warm day or in your heated garage, you should be fine, but if you install in really cold temps the waetherstripping will take longer to break in. I do recommend you wax your vinyl window inserts to help keep them clean and resist dirt.

Some other points vs the competition: As you can see from the video, you can install these without hacking up your vehicle and are true bolt-on. I will follow up with a video of features and other tips.
Thanks for this video. I didn’t realize I’d need a rivet tool. I’ll have to pick one up.

If you could post a photo of how the doors fit against the C-pillar on the cage, it would really help. I think I’ve decided to buy the SuperATV rear window. I’ve figured out extra fuel, and I’m hoping the new bead locks will bail me out of the spare tire situation, but because I’m wintering at Sand Hollow, I have to figure out a flag mount.

"UPDATE ON UORP UPPER DOORS

THE GOOD NEWS

All pre-ordered doors will ship on Monday. I will be turning it back on to accept orders shortly. We will have some in stock with the second run being complete. I believe we have addressed the mixed hardware issues experienced with the first run. We have also found parts for the DP latch with less resistance, so they are easier to open. The 3rd run is in process now and should be complete before Christmas.

THE BAD NEWS

We test shipped some samples before we started shipping regular orders to check boxes and freight costs. We averaged $65 for freight per box. There are 2 boxes per set. When we shipped the first run out over the entire run they averaged $150 per box. $300 per set. We didn't fare well on the first run margin wise. So any new orders will see a price increase of $150 dollars. We are willing to eat part of it but we can't be doing this for free. I took a poll and everyone said they would rather raise the price and have freight included instead of a big surprise when they checked out and saw a huge freight bill.

I am not happy about the amount of money going to Ups considering the way they treat our product in shipping. People near us willing to pick up can reach out and we can offer a better price if we can work out the meeting arrangements. As we increase production we are hoping to start getting better raw material pricing with bigger orders, if that happens I will adjust pricing accordingly. We are starting to see some slowing of the economy do to Bidenomics so hopefully prices on raw materials will fall as the economy slows. Not really good news for us as a country but should slow this inflation we have been experiencing. As always I will share the good and the bad.

Yes we are working on the prototype for the 2 seat. It is entirely different geometry with the curved roll bar. Hoping to have something by the end of the year. SORRY.
Thanks again for supporting a US company. We appreciate all of the orders and know we will always respond and resolve issues."
Has anyone thought to check with Putin? Biden said prices were up because of Putin’s Price Hike®. I think he also said it was Trump’s fault.

I was also able to install the UORP doors on our RMAX4's with OEM poly windshield without having to trim the uppers. You have 2 options. You can leave the clamps partially open to clear the frame or trim the clamps. I'd rather butcher the clamps, which you can still open with a flathead screwdriver.
So you have the “handle” on the clamp sticking towards the outside? On my Alpha windshield I put the release handles towards the interior. Is that going to solve the issue?

Are you saying they are for sale and ready for delivery. Point me in the direction I would like to buy a set.
I looked at the site, but didn’t see anywhere to order yet. Here’s their site…

Question, when pre-ordering the doors do they charge you as soon as you order or when they ship them?
When you order. They take PayPal, if that helps. Also, shipped to Utah, they didn’t charge sales tax, not that you need to worry about that in AK, but a lot of people in other states will be happy to hear it.

Another thing that may be of interest to people waiting… When they released the 4 door version, I was watching for it on the Rmax page. It never posted to that page, and I missed the first batch of orders. I believe it is still only listed on the website front page. Watch the front page.

I hope. That usually translates to 2-3 months or more for this company. Someone in the know told me a few months ago that it would definitely be this winter, lol. At least I'll be ready for next year. Maybe?
When I ordered mine for the 4 door, the website said 3-4 weeks. It took 6, but that was the second run. I would think they’ve improved since then. I haven’t heard anything longer than that. Nothing like 3-4 months. If you already ordered, I’d email or call Andy. He’s very knowledgeable and super cool. He’ll give you a straight answer.

Do you think you will be able to trailer with these?
I have them. I would not attempt it. However, I’ve ridden at 60 mph for 15 or so miles to the trails with them with no issues. Maybe they’d be fine.

Mine are still on, but hopefully not for much longer. I’m up here by M.O. right now, and it’s still pretty cold and rainy. One good thing about these windows, is you pull a couple pins, remove a strut, and they’re off. They go back on just as easy. The only hurdle is mirrors.
As far as, would I buy them again? Probably. They definitely made a few rides that wouldn’t have happened happen. I avoid rain riding even with the windows, but I’ve been able to ride all day in low 30°s fairly comfortably, with no heater, and no back window.
I would say I’d much rather not have them on when I ride, but they’ve saved enough days of riding to earn their keep.
