I want to go with an ipad or tablet mount in the middle where the warning stickers are. I will most likely use a XGPS 150 to increase the gps signal on the tablet or just buy a cheap tablet with no gps

I glued the post to the dash area for my Garmin , unit was 120 bucks and have a as map card for Canada , I wouldn’t want to go to big due to damage and price ,

Which Garmin are you using?

That’s my plan.. add a bad elf or xgps for GPS.

I am not very tech-savy but the MotionX GPS app loaded well and looks like it will do a nominal job on my iPhone 6s. It was only $2 or $3 and has a bunch of trail maps to download. Worth looking at....

Ipad won’t have GPS if it’s not the cellular version so to run the app he might need to add GPS from bad elf or xgps. Ive heard good things about motion com going to try it!
