Switched to an 'E-Track' tie down system today on my trailer, always figured with so much play on suspension on ATV's that ratcheting down the unit from frame points was always risky due to play in suspension when driving over rough roads/bumps and tying it so tight to compress the suspension to it's limits I figured was probably not good for your suspension itself.
My question is are 2 tires (opposite each other) tied down more than enough? These tie downs are very heavy duty (2" and big buckles) and have a working load limit of 1165 lbs (EACH) and a MAX load limit of 3500 lbs (EACH). The weight of my X4 is 1666lbs. My plan was for all 4 tires but I bought 2 longer and 2 shorter track lengths (to fit the length) of my trailer, but the shorter tracks don't cut it due to the buckle and excess slack being too close for ratcheting clearance.
My rough math says I'm fine but wanted some input from those more versed in towing/strapping. Thanks
