I decided to arrange an alternative source for air filters as demand far outstripped supply in Australia. I sent my oem filter and cage to an Australian manufacturer of foam filters and had them make dual stage replacements. These will be available for purchase soon with price tbc. Factory seal is a bit ordinary, I will repair before re-installation.

Sweet! Quality aftermarket options are good to have. How is the density of those foams compared to OEM? Is filter oil to be used....on both layers? Would you still use the OEM secondary paper filter?

I like having 2 foam filters for easy swap out and then cleaning the dirty one when convenient.

The foam is slightly less dense than stock foam but the two layers provide more surface area for greater flow and dirt holding capacity. Both layers are oiled and I would retain the secondary filter. Retail price in Australia is going to be $65.80 AUD, approximately $42.00 USD.

Filter is made by UNI FILTER AUSTRALIA.
That's interesting. UNI makes Yamahas OEM filters. You'd think they would have access to the same filter cage specs alread. Even in Australia.

I don't know if you've ever used TwinAir filters, but I've had them on a couple machines with great results. Uni also makes great filters. Lots of great options out there for riders!!
Yes of course. I have been riding motorcycles off road for 49 years.

I was searching their site but couldn’t find an RMAX filter…only YXZ. Do they make an RMAX filter?
