Unbolt the bottom bolt. Leave the top bolt in place and it acts as the vise in the video.
This technique will be appreciated by anyone doing the task, when they get to the passenger front top shock bolt and realize how much fun it’s going to be to access and remove it.

I don't like either of the top front top bolts.
Ya, it's funny to watch these spring/shock shops do their gratuitous work, without showing us how they got the shocks off!

Only thing keeping me from going with the tenders is so much front preload has to be added to bring the front up to level it out that the front shocks are close to fully extended with hardly any down travel to them from what I’ve read. I just don’t want the ass end higher than the front. Gotta have mine level

I didn’t find that to be a problem. I started with the recommended settings, then adjusted my fronts 2 more times just to get rid of nose dive while braking. My rig sits about 1/8” different front to back with my typical load and no passengers. I still have over 25% sag up front, also unloaded (3 5/8” difference at the tire), and the sag increases with passengers.

Ya it's really not a problem. Not sure where the Intel came from about the back being higher than the front. My machine don't look like no racoon running through the woods. 🤣 I'm pretty level.

Guys while I realize my question is not totally on target for this discussion I would like some feedback if at all possible. I have a 2021 Wolverine 850 X2 XTR. I would like your opinions as to what aftermarket shock would be best for my machine.

Thanks

Hello, Bandit, Elka or Walker Evans are all good choices. (The majority of our components are machined by the same companies that Elka uses). So, our shocks are extremely similar to Elka. You can not go wrong with any of the three brands.
Other brands offered that you might hear of are not serviceable or rebuildable. It is always best to have shocks that can be repaired later if ever needed.
