How do I adjust the neutral switch (or shift lever) on my UTV? If I put the shifter between the "N" and "R" it works fine so I think one of the two just needs adjustment.

Under the center console/storage box there should be a jam nut (or 2) on the linkage. You should be able to make the adjustments there. I have not personally had to mess with mine but should be a simple fix.

You can actually start them in gear if you apply the foot brake while cranking. I know this doesn't really fix the problem but will get you by for now
