Rode my new Wolverine for the first time last night and noticed the exhaust glowing red. Is this normal and will it continue?

You can blame the emissions for that , they are set up very lean from the factory.

THey aren't lean, I just checked and made a fuel map for it with a O2 sensor

It is just normal, thin stainless with no dirt glows.

Just because the header is stainless does not mean that it is best for performance...

Perhaps, if it flows like crap then it doesn't matter what the material. But thin (light) stainless is nice, opposed to aluminized steel or cast (heavy).

So....is there real benefit to swapping the header on this platform? From what I recall, in my brief inspection, it looked to be a nice clean pipe. Is it undersized? I've a friend who did some work on my past supercharged/meth-injected C5 Z06's exhaust, bypass pipes, which was titanium from the factory. I'd bet it wouldn't be too much to have him put a Ti header together...it is just one pipe. If I can source a properly matched Ti can to finish it off, that'd be something.

Cant say but the tip is very restrictive and that could add to the redness.

I made a tip for ours, seemed to run better no faster on top end but accelerated better.

Todd did you modify the factory tip or replace it. I replaced the spark arrestor on my grizzly 700. Made it sound better don't think it did much else.

I modified it, I would not keep it the way I did it, just playing bought another stock stip

Wondering who makes a aluminum tip, same one for the viking

I rode for about an hour today its pretty warm outside. I noticed when i loaded my bike up on my trailer that the rear differential was pretty dang hot from the exhaust being right on top of it. I'd be afraid to shoot it with a temp gun.... Does anyone else notice this? And do you think the heat on that rear differential will cause problems? I would think it wouldn't be to good for it. But i also do not know EVERYTHING.
