Probably most out west have followed Matt’s Largest Off-road Wrecker build and Rory’s Channel from Moab with Trail Mater, but not sure if people from other parts of the nation are aware of this? I really enjoy watching this stuff. They are all friends and support each other at times in combined recoveries. I met Rory several years ago rescuing one of his friends out of the Escalator on Hells Revenge in Moab. At the time I thought it was really a hunk of junk wrecker. Later I saw a video of him towing a 4 seat RZR on an off-road trailer out of Pritchett Canyon which is pretty much the toughest trail in Moab. At that point a gained a new respect for what Trail Mater actually is. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye!
All the wreckers are incredible and I’m also a big fan of Matt’s largest wrecker with rear steer but I’m the biggest fan of Trail Mater. This is just a sample of what Rory can do but having watched many of his recovery videos, he and his truck just amaze me, he rarely gets out, picks great lines, maneuvers the truck in baffling ways, making it as handy as rear steer, let’s out line, reels in line, he’s just smooth as butter!
Not sure who won but I’m predicting it’s Trail Mater! I’ve been up this Triple 7 trial 4 times in the Rmax and it’s a real test. Blows my mind that they can tow something up it!

I'm a fan. I have followed MORR, Fab Rats, and Trailmater for a long time. I think I enjoy watching the trailmater crew the most because of the amazing trail repairs they do in Moab. A lot of common sense ingenuity from Rory. To quote Rory: "It's a learning curve littered with broken parts".

I was sad to hear about the MORR team member dying of a heart attack during the games.

I'd like to be the one that designs the obstacles and recoveries for the competition.
Assuming they hold the games next year, I’d like to see it evolve into not just towing a vehicle but winching one out of the crevasse that it rolled into upside down etc.
Put more emphasis on not just the rig’s capabilities but the persons ideas and experience with rigging straps, snatch blocks etc.

Yes I did. Wheels too. Thanks you! I have been really happy with that setup. Now I have to figure what my next move to 32's will be.
As have I. Your facing my same dilemma. I believe the life of the Libertys will come to an end this summer and I'm pretty sure that I want 32's as well. I have just heard many times that a true 32 will rub so I think I'm gonna try the Tusk Terrabites. I have read that they are actually only a 31" tire. That will give me just a little more than than the Liberty that was a true 30 but not enough to make me rub. At least that's my theory so far. LOL

Good thread Budro.
I started out watching Matt a few years back and have morphed into watching the other folks except the guy from the North Midwest. He is not in the same class from what I have seen, but it was kind to invite him. I typically like channels that report stuff they do and share tips and tricks and events of real life. (Project Farm for instance) I am not into the drama created unnecessarily. And that is the way it seems that Matt has gone over the last couple years which loses some of my interest, but I'm basically still a fan, as well as my wife who actually likes the drama, surprise, surprise lol. If I had to own a truck here in Tennessee, it would be Fab Rat's. And it is still in progress and doubt he is in the top three. I have not watched Merlin very long but do like him cause of the above. Paul's group is fun cause of the family atmosphere and interplay with the players but just jokes no fake drama lol. Rory and his group are the top for me and I agree that he is the cream of that crop. However, when Matt finishes that big boy and gets the bugs worked out, it is gonna be hard to beat for the real work. But regardless of the machine, Rory gets my vote as he has the skillsets head and shoulders above the rest from what I've seen and gets the max out of Trailmater. And Matt's truck probably costs 10 times as much as Trailmater. I am looking forward to an official video of the games as the others I have seen, offer no commentary of explanation of contests, goals or rules and they are random in their content.
