I had a 3k champion winch on my grizzly for 9 years. It always sounded like it was grinding rocks, but it always worked! I replaced the crappy switch/contactor with a handlebar mounted switch from gorilla and remote contactor as soon as i bought it. I had to tear it apart after a few years and clean the gears. While i was in there i drilled the housing and added a grease zerk. Then i just gave it a shot every now and then. I also replaced the cable, but it was 8 years old at the time. Overall it did what I needed it to do
