Has any one run 32" tires on the RMAX4 Long yet? Was looking to put 32 10 14 Kenda Klever on mine as we drive mostly on roads and wanted something that would last and keep our stock tires for other adventures. I have read a lot of good things about these tires. FYI I am new to the SxS world so be kind.

I’m an old school 71 model myself!
Lots of people run 32s on the 2 seat model and clearance and suspension is the same as the 4seat long model. So is the engine and CVT.
Lots of people do 32s with no CVT mods but I recommend at least adding a 1mm shim to the primary to restore the starting ratio since the 32s gear it up 8%. Your wet clutch will appreciate it. Better yet, install a Weller sheave and also switch to 22-23 gr weights so it’s not so loud and high revving as it is with the 16 gr weights it comes with.

32s clear, but I don’t personally recommend going any bigger. The naive on Facebook are continually posting 35s with no lift proclaiming no rub, because they drove it around in easy terrain and haven’t found the limits of the suspension. They also have zero understanding of the CVT and what they can expect long term as a result.

Your in the right place if you want to learn about these things and especially if you want to maintain and service it yourself properly. It’s a good group of folks here ready to assist and answer your questions!

Just had to reiterate this. Budro is not wrong.

As far as the rest of the machine, no.
As far as the CVT goes, all parts are considered wear items and are not warrantied anyway.
As far as the 10 year belt warranty yes it voids it but it’s a worthless marketing scheme that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on any way.
The warranty is only good for belt breakage not wear. It has to be serviced by a certified tech and the belt has to be inspected by a tech every 1600 miles. I’ve never heard of Yamaha honoring a belt claim.

Keep in mind, it’s not just about ground clearance. The hubs, CV joints, half shafts and differentials were not engineered for the torq required to turn anything different than stock tires and wheels. I up’d mine to 30’s… and 32’s MIGHT be ok, but just make sure your bank account can handle the drive train repairs if it can’t….not to mention a broken machine in the back country. Loooooong walk out and a MONSTER tow bill. How much is the extra ground clearance worth to you?
