Interesting....makes me wonder why Yamaha does not tap intot the forums for surveys or thoughts about how to grow their market share. Or maybe they do and I just never see it, or they limit to a select few?

This is a year old. And I'm just hearing about it now?

Dang it! I finally pulled the trigger on an X2 and then this comes out shortly thereafter. Now I have to buy a 3rd SXS? Momma's gonna hate me. LOL.

If it means anything I guess it is saying next years models may include two new machines. Since nothing happened in 2019 or 2020 they only have next year to get them out there.

I’m surprised I never heard about if before today being that it was written last year. I’d like to see machine slightly narrower than the yxz but with more bed capacity, 1000cc motor and an automatic transmission. More tailored to east coast style riding. No idea what the limitations on the current cvt yamaha uses are as far as power but I like just worrying about throttle and brakes.

It makes me wonder if Weller racing is designing that turbo for the 850 for a new General type SxS with 12-14" of suspension travel and about 90-100hp.
    Budro2 and LJ3 like this.
Progress is man’s ability to complicate simplicity.

I'm thinking they're going to try to grab some of the Razr/Razr XP/General market share. No reason they can't stuff that sweet YXZ 3-cylinder engine in something like that. Also, if they were really smart, they'd go to 1100 cc's just for marketing reasons.

This has been discussed a good bit really.
We're just hoping the XTR isn't one of those spots....lol
999cc is federal limit, after that you are in a different class with different restrictions/regulations I believe.

Adapt your machine to how you intend to use it.
Every mod you do to a machine will have gains somewhere and losses in other areas.
Decide what you want and what you can live with or without.

XTR covers the YXZ, Wolverine's & the Grizzly , lets hope it's along the lines of Popo's General 2 & 4 seat model.
