    Synthetic winch line replacement

So last weekend I ended breaking my winch line but I got 2 seasons out of it! After looking everywhere for a cheaper alternative to the oem Warn line (expensive especially their spidura ) I found some on Amazon. I will write a review and brand when it arrives. I was wondering what you folks use as replacement?

There are plenty of other brand rope/cables that are excellent, no need to buy a Warn labeled one. Go to just about any shop with bulk rope and you can find the same synthetic for much less money.

there is no location for you. Update Signature or add a footer....

Steel or stainless lines are quite cheap here at Princess Auto for example. Synthetic a great for Plow application but you don't need a long length. Switch back in the summer. I have seen synthetic and never would pay those prices. I happen to have synthetic rope only because it came with the dealer installed Warn winch. Otherwise I'd just put a 50ft stainless steel line on and be done with it.

It just has to WORK, not break, but work!! My opinion of course as money is a key driver.

Yes Princess auto is good but I wont use cable again. I just love synthetic line. My order from Amazon comes today. I found line with 5 star reviews for under $40. I will post a review later. At that price I will buy a couple spares and have in box.

I used to do that a lot when I used synthetic rope for plowing, then I just swapped in a short heavy rope for the winter plowing season. One thing I could never get to work was tying a knot in it, they pulled through themselves no matter what knot I tried (one that would fit through the fairlead). I've used steel cables and synthetic ropes, both work but each has advantages and disadvantages.

It's real easy to tie the factory knot back into synthetic rope. I made a field kit just in case I needed it out in the woods. Real easy and real reliable.
