Finally got time to snap pics of how I mounted mine. It's in the perfect spot IMO. Easy reach from the driver seat and i can hook up the remote for outside winching. Of course it seems no 2 winches have the same controller style. BTW, it did require some 1/4" longer metric bolts sourced from the local hardware store. The stockers aren't long enough to go thru the 12ga plates on both sides of the cage since i also mounted my light pods there.

Well done on it (mount with the typical rocker winch switch). I also like the bracket bent for the light.

Was the winch bracket and switch bought together or different sources.

I work in a steel fab shop. Just sheared out a strip of 12ga, bent it in the pressbrake then whittled it down until i liked it.

Since it’s for the roll cage please make sure you match the hardness of the oem bolts & nuts. Harder is ok but not softer. God forbid if you rolled the thing and they are low grade soft bolts and nuts and they shear off. Regards

Hardsare store and building centers carry mostly White metal bolts which aren't hard. Lag bolt especially and I have had them twist off driving them into wood. I complained about what they carry but the same all around the big box stores.

TRAILHOUND you lucky you can do that. few people around here doing home work have break but for aluminum only which is also thin for capping and such.

Honestly I don't recall the grade of the bolts. I bought them 2yrs ago and used them on the Gen 1 then swapped them onto the x2. I always check what grade I'm getting with any bolt. I'm fortunate that our local store has Grade 2,5,8 and 10 plus 8.8,10.7, etc in metric. Thanks for bringing this up. It is important and I should have mentioned it. I remember in high school a friend put a 3" body lift on an old chevy truck. The only bolts he could get long enough were grade 2. I refused to ride in it.

I took my machine out of the garage since its sunny and snow is melting. Mostly slushy surface and deeper area. Got her heated up and had a better look around it. The winch oem plug has many holes but the cable is 3 only as I'd expect. Is there a plug that can be used to insert and have it wired to a winch switch.

I left my plug rolled up under the hood coiled up by the battery and keep the handheld remote in the glovebox.
