Sometimes you just need to ride!

In our neck of the woods there is a touch of fall in the air, and neither Indian summer and then fall won't last long in the mountains. Today I just had an urge to get out in the woods and catch the fresh air and pine smell of a good ride up in the mountains before we run out of really nice weather. Usually we ride on the weekends, but it was a nice day today. Now really hard core winter riding does not appeal to me much anymore since I spent many a winter riding snowmobiles when the kids were young. I might catch some milder winter riding this winter, will have to see if the spirit moves me that way when the time comes. Anyway, went on a short 30 mile ride, here are some pics. I was about 7,000 feet at the highest with a nice view of the Wallowa Valley and the small town of Enterprise, Oregon below. The other pics were from riding a week ago when we went up to Harl Butt lookout that sits above the Snake river and Hell's canyon, the view is looking over towards the east into Idaho and the Seven Devil's mountains in the background, and what is called Heaven's Gate pass on the north end. Yeah, I know, that's a strange name for a pass thru the Seven Devil's mountains.Name: 20180920_160351.jpg
