My Bio- old guy been riding about 7 years total-ride mostly blue and some black trails for technical thrills.
I just had a weekend at Windrock with buddies- 2 Polaris 900 ACE, CanAm 4 seat turbo 1000, Artic Cat 1000 and one other Wolverine w/28s. I lead with the lifetime trail maps tablet and they all follow and we all ride same stuff. Everyone enjoys our ride style and the Wolvs do not give up anything to the others for all practical purposes. Can't touch their top speed but seldom ever get to those speeds and not for more than a few seconds. If we were ridding out west in the wide open spaces I am sure it would be different. The one thing that I wish we had that would make a serious difference for our ridding, is to have bigger tires and more clearance in the deep ruts. But that takes a lot of power and axle killers or portals, so have to be content with what we have. Or spend a bunch. I am very happy with the 708 power!

That vid is pretty cool and impressive for sure. When I saw it originally It sold me on a wolverine. Sometimes more power is less. I looked at that and thought more power may break the tires loose and get cha in a fix. I think it woulda worked better with a slugged wet clutch and machined sheeve however. One other thing that was pointed out later that I didn’t notice is that the camera is tilted 45 degrees. Turn your screen till the trees in the background are vertical and suddenly it’s only half as steep as it appears!

Not me. I went to Utah State and Oklahoma. The wheels are by No Limit. They come in colors to match most UTVs. They did have wheels to match my Wolverine, but blue on blue seemed too boring. Mine are yellow, intended for a Can Am Commander. They match the sunflower "splat man" decal on the hood. It's a Moab thing.

Updating an old thread since it came back up.

After a little over 2 years with the Wolvy and the power is still fine. The suspension travel slows me more than the engine. What is becoming the killer for buggy is tire size. Unless I go portals I don't think I will be able to hold onto it much longer. Most sxs are coming with 28's or bigger. It seems most are running 30-32 anymore and ruts are getting deep. With widths going anywhere from 4-6 ft staying out them is more less impossible.

There is still not a machine that I think has more of what I need/want than my gen 1, I'm going to have give up some things to get more suspension and tire. I don't think anything is 2-3 times better then my gen 1 but they are priced that way.

I completely agree. I ride with primarily rzr 1000’s in my group. If I had their suspension and tire sizes, I’d be totally fine everywhere they go. I can go most places where we ride but when I can’t make it it’s purely those 2 issues. Prices on what I am interested in are insane. I paid $9500 for my gen 1 with 120 miles on it. Even with about every mod you can do it’s still cheaper than the ones that interest me.
