Oil Consumption

    So you are reusing the cylinder? What type of oil were you using? So that's good if if that's all it is the seal's .

    Yea, I will be reusing the cylinder.
    Yamalube when it was new, and then changed to Rotella T6.
    I have mostly ran 87 octane 10% ethanol gas, non-ethanol 87 octane when I can get it.

    Mine is still new with only 9.4 hours on it and I run 90 plus octane it burns hotter so I'm not sure if that's harder on valve seals or not .I hope not lol .

    I havent fully cleaned all the carbon off of everything, but the plan is to reuse piston and valves, but I am throwing a new set of rings at it.

    How long did it take you from the point of taking off the bed until you had the cylinder off?

    Oh, I dont know, I pulled the clutch sheaves off before I disassembled the top end (time for CVT service and new belt), I probably had everything apart in a couple hours.

    just to add my input here- my Wolv is using oil and smoking on startup also, my dealer has been informed and from now on i will be keeping detailed records of consumption- 2016 R spec with 1000 miles
