    DIY gas pedal mod

A friend and I have both used this mod for the gas pedal. I just used a piece of 1/8" UHMW plastic, put a small bend in it where I screwed it to the floor and then shaped it by hand to have a slight curve to the pedal. It's super cheap and I have used enough now to say that it works great. I don't recall the exact dimensions, but it's slightly wider than the gas pedal and covers the pedal even when depressed for WOT. My friend used 2 pieces of UHMW essentially making it 1/4" thick so his is more rigid. Both seem to work fine. I think he riveted his together. Anyway, a super cheap, bulletproof option to reduce foot fatigue and the herky/jerky when riding in rough terrain.Name: 20190819_220145.jpg

I'm all for buying accessories, but that is a good idea that looks like it works well. Beats paying $55 for the throttle max. Have to spray paint it blue to match the SE. lol

Well, in AK I buy it from Alaska Rubber and Rigging. I suppose try an internet search for UHMW plastic or call around your local area....Industrial type stores that carry tractor, semi, hydraulic hoses, etc, might carry it.

Ok, I accept the thrashing I got earlier. I shrugged it off never the less.

I'll add here (maybe should be in a separate thread) what I'd done to greatly increase my driving comfort. Given nothing is adjustable on the Wolverine. There isn't anyone I can see that would want the seats in those hole bringing if further forward. Hence I don't consider it an adjustment whatsoever.

The seat pad has some shape to it and cushion shape but for the taller rider the thigh are floating foot not as comfortable as could be. We can't move the seat further back but WE CAN TIP the seat pad UP!!

I had these big rubber washer for decade floating around nut and bolt collection and decided to use them. I measured and the 1/2" thick hard rubber. Will compress under torque so I had to buy 4 bolts approx 1 inch longer than what was there. (to do both seats) You could use a piece of wood, large bolts etc to space it off similarly.

Well Pic's worth a 1000 words they said back in the day. So have a look.

You know the approximate length? 12”x6”x1/4” for sale online - you think that’s long enough?

I just measured the one that I made an it is 2" wide, 12.5" long, and 1/8" thick. Yes, I'm sure 12" would be long enough. Just mount it such that the UHMW piece covers the gas pedal when depressed at full throttle. Make sure that the UHMW piece cannot get jammed under the gas pedal at full throttle or you might go for a wild ride! It's easy to make, works great, and it should never wear out or break.
