On high speed runs on dirt roads I always run in 4X4.
I'm talking hitting the speed limiter for miles in 4X4.
Not a thing at all to worry about.
Also, it doesn't matter if you're on pavement or not.
Now if you have diff lock on, that's another story, you will know that right away because you can't steer it with diff lock on.

These machines are extraordinarily tough. You didn't hurt anything. Here in the Sierra Nevada mountains you frequently encounter large expanses of bare granite. Most of the time we just claw our way over them without switching out of 4WD.

Massive, been lucky enough to have visited your neck of the woods a couple of times. The first time was to attend a conference. I arrived at night and didn't really see much. Next morning I looked out my hotel window and immediately called my wife. "We're coming here with the trailer," I told her. And we did and had a wonderful time. Custer, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore. Awesome country.

I'm the same as DWRAT. Basically you're in three wheel drive with the 4WD on and true 4 wheel in DIFF lock. Especially on rainy days running thru puddles you can keep powering through them rather than stopping in the middle and shifting into the 4WD or Diff lock.
