I'm not sure where this temperature number came from, it wasn't me - I only referenced ambient air temp that day at 12C or 54F. Don't have a temp gauge for the belt case and don't see me putting one in. Interesting to see what temps in there maybe, but I was just putting along all day and then a couple minutes at higher speed, not matted to the floor.

No smoking gun yet but haven't even looked at the ducting yet as Budro2 had suggested. I'm at work and just sneaking in this teardown during breaks.

Did you not read my earlier posts in this thread regarding my temperature gauge and my findings?

No offense intended and hate to break it to you but the bottom line is, if your not using a Razorback then your readings are meaningless. I know that you are not! What I don’t know is weather or not your gauge actually attempts to read the belt temperature or if it’s just reading the temperature of the air inside the cover? Those are 2 different things and only 1 matters!
Either way it’s definitely not accurate and if your snorkeled you may end up surprised. Possibly this is why your belt is slipping?

I have a thread in the gen 1 section about belt temperature facts already.

I could idle down the road at 15 MPH for a 1/2 mile and my belt would read 120 degrees! I could drive to the end of my driveway 1/8 mile with the ambient temperature at zero and be at 50 degrees. Normal operating temperature, cruising, no grade, is at least 170 degrees. With my cover completely removed trapping no heat I can drive 45-50 mph down my flat road at home and hit 185.

I know you snorkeled and I know that’s why you installed the gauge. SMART! But when I saw what you were installing, I thought to my self, this might be interesting. I’m just trying to save you some headache. Razorback is expensive but it is accurate!!!!

Sorry Massive, I missed this - I guess I would say low humidity. Very wet and damp this year, but generally dry air.

It shows. If you don't find anything as an immediate culprit when you put it back together and before putting the CVT cover on, spin the primary by hand with transmission in neutral. It should turn fairly easy without binding effect other than the belt itself.

I fully expected that would be your response! LOL

Reading fake temperature numbers is kinda like reading fake news. They both give a false sense of what’s really happening!

FYI, we will be having a compressor again soon but will cost $91 instead of $79 like before, the guy who made them has some larger bells, they will be added to the present compressor for X2/X4 owners

    maybe in a week

Needs to be checked that is for sure
I told him I wanted one. You guys give him a shout!

I would for sure check your secondary out especially with Yamaha's 1600 mile service interval. I'm just glad no premature wear on both my clutches. All good and won't be worrying about it for a long time again. Yeah Todd needs to sell these. Guess I slipped through the cracks back in May. Says he didn't sell enough of them. So all you peeps need to order one from Todd. Force him to stock up again. lol
