    Start no start

Guys I have a 2017 wolverine r spec eps, with about 400 miles on it. Recently I am experiencing a no start at times. Gauges come on and shows good voltage but starter won’t engage. Seems that if I depress the brake hard, it then fires right up. May be a coincidence but it use to start only in neutral with park brake on. Could this be a brake switch? I have lubed the plunger on the switch, but no change. Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Kevin

Sounds like the brake switch needs adjusted.

I’ll bet you don’t have brake lights either until you push real hard. Once you adjust that switch so the brake light come on with just a touch of the pedal then it will also start when you just rest your foot on the brake. Common issue for many of us with that model. Your owner manual will describe the adjustment process!
If that doesn’t do it perhaps the switch is faulty!

while down there fiddling with it is a good time to do the little tweak on you accelerator cable at the pedal. Search and you will find the thread with a few photos if I remember correctly.

On my X2 it will start in neutral or it will start in gear only with the brake on, if that is what you mean.

Brakes don't need to be pressed unless its in gear. Put it in Neutral and it should start. Otherwise I'd suspect the selector switch which likely designates the display letter N, but if its showing Neutral. A neutral switch may exist separately on these as its not sensing it out of gear.

I can reach in on mine and turn the key and running instantly. You're should respond the same.

Brake light switch seems to have been the issue. Adjusted so the brake lights work with a feather push, and problem solved.
    Thanks guys!

I think you had it. He said in the first post it would start in neutral.
