    Fender Flares

I have a 2019 R-spec, which I think has some small fender flares but I still get covered in mud trying to get through the wet swampy areas on my property. I mean covered, dripping off the roof, all over my face sloshing around on the floor. It is bone stock, no tire changes and no windshield or enclosures.

Can anyone recommend some good wide fender flares? I saw some pretty wide ones for the older machines or X4 but not for this model but it is not always clear what may work.

    Thanks,
    Steve.

In certain situations it can be bad especially if you don't have any on the rear now.
I added the stock ones from the SE to the rear of mine and don't have too much mud getting in.

The stock ones help but I added 3” more width. This makes a big difference.

I have the SE flares and I still get a lot in the cab. I do have 28X10 tires. I’ve been thinking of adding these generic rubber flares.

Search fender flare extensions on the forum if you want to get an idea of how the flexy flares will look.
DMcHarley did a write up on them with a gen 1.
The trucker mud flap mod that many of us did stops the vast majority of the mud IMO and looks pretty clean and nice!
Most of the mud coming in the cab is off the rear of the front tire and front of the rear tire.
The flexy flare in conjunction got his mud to zero, looks pretty clean!

I ordered the heavy duty 4" flexy flare material and it certainly looks like it will do the trick. Can you tell me how you attached it, I thought to use large head black rivets but I think the ones I bought werea little too short as the rubber and plastic are both thicker than I thought they would be when I ordered the rivets. I popped a few in but they then they pulled out too easily. I am also not sure if rivets are the right solution for plastic, but they would make it easy since much of it looks like it would be tough to get to the inside of the plastic. Is there a special type of rivet for use with the plastic around that wheel well?

Any suggestion for fastening is greatly appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Steve.

Got some fender flares on the front finally. Was over muddy windshields, side doors, everywhere.

Used some husky long john flares. Worked well. Took the front fender flares off and secured using hardware the same way the fenders are bolted on.

Haven’t done the rears yet but I will later.

I extended the front flares over the tire. It made a huge difference in keeping the mud off. The rear flares are 5” beyond the bolt ons.
