    Terrabites and Yamaha clutch weights

    No more bottoming out. I put 28x10-14 Tusk Terrabites on 4/110 STI HD8 14x7 5.0 + 2.0 Matte Black/Dark Grey wheels.

I also put in the Yamaha clutch weights. It wasn't difficult. But it did take me a bit longer than the estimated 90 minutes noted in the packing slip.

Anyway, this thing rides excellent with these changes. These terrabites are firm and are absolutely terrific on rocks.

I was looking at a different tire but Rocky Mountain ATV recommended this combo. They said border patrol just ordered a crapload of these terrabites.

    I'm delighted with this setup!

I think there are few tires better than a terrabite on slick rock like Moab. Great tire at a great price too. Pretty sure they’ll be my next summer tire. Stock ground clearance for a sport utility is rediclous. It’s too bad they keep building these sport utilities like there full utility for putting around the ranch. We need a minimum of 12 out the door without mods. 13 to 15 is where it’s at!

I agree. Stock setup is good for a mall parking lot.

I’m considering some new tires. I want them to be DOT approved since I may also try to street legalize it.

This brings me to my question. The Tusk Terrabites are considerably heavier than the stock “balloons”. How noticeable was the decrease in power going to the Terrabites?

There is no noticable difference with the terrabites BUT I installed Yamaha oversized tire clutch weights at the same time.

    No regrets with the terrabites!

Been running the terrabites on stock wheels since I bought my machine in 2018. I use mine for work in the week and maybe some light off roading on the weekend. These tires are really good on the street. I’m in excess of 1400 miles and they still have good tread left.
    Cheers

What size T-bites are you both running?

I suspect Island Boy is running 27's since you're on stock wheels?

Legolast...your SXS looks AWESOME with the T-bites on it! What size clutch weights did you install?

Are you both happy with them? They sound like a great all around DOT tire. But I hear they might be lacking a little bit when in mud or snow? Your thoughts?

    I'm considering 28's myself.

    Thanx Guys!

Nothing but props from me on my 27" Terrabites. My previous tires were super light Zilla's which weren't designed for the weight of a SXS.

Hey! I bought the only size weights manufactured by yamaha for the wolverine (maybe they have more options now?). Other guys on here are running some other brand that comes in different weights.

I have the terrabite 28's installed and I love them!
