Sure! I want to replace the Velcro parts with a little better strap, so I will take some pics of them and how I made them then.

They are not wired in. Battery life on these units is really good, and I take them out and put them on my back deck when we are out there having a fire, so I can charge them then. Honestly, I have only had to recharge them once since I bought them.

Think you could mount them under the roof? Angle the speakers for they are pointed to the passengers head.

You can mount these anywhere. Just need to be creative with making the mounting hardware. There really isn't much out there pre-made for these things.

The JBL Charge 4's actually have a IPX7 rating which is full submersion in 3' of water for up to 30 minutes. The "X" rating signifies that the device has not been tested for solid particle ingress; i.e. dust in this case. If X is shown in the liquid position it has not been tested for water.

IP stands for Ingress Protection and you can learn about it here.

    Nice setup OP.

The stuff is called AZEK, essentially a PVC decking material.

Azek is the spelling for that PVC decking. Great idea. I have the JBL Flip 4 that I've brought along since it fits into one of the cup holders, but your idea is better.

blfuller, Thanks for the clarification. I honestly didn't know IPX7 meant. Hopefully dust infiltration doesn't kill these things because I really like them! At least the mounts will last! I used the same material to trim out an exterior door about 10 years ago, and it still looks like new!

I'm working on getting some pics of how to make the mounts. Stay tuned for that for those interested.

Finally got a chance to load some pics of how to make these speaker mounts.

Start with a block of material, and lay out what size hole you need. For me, (JBL Charge 4) is was 3.5". Measure out how high you would like it to sit off the surface you are mounting to.

    Then saw out the hole.

Cut down the middle to make both halves of the mount.

Dill mounting holes for whatever hardware you want to use. Be sure to leave enough material for this when you cut down the sides.

Clean up the parts with a little sand paper and paint. I used truck bed coating for this (love that stuff!). Put your Velcro pieces under the mounts when you install them to capture the straps. NOTE: When mounting to the dash, you may need to make a small mod to the plastic firewall under the hood for the hardware to clear.

    Not much to it.
