It comes with a piece of foam rubber to make up the gap on the clamp.
It's really tight and zero vibration issues.
I like how I can have it away from my face.

    Skelley,
My mirror came with 2 thin rubber shims and 2 thick ones.
I tried a thick/thin combo and it worked, but I could move the mount some by hand.
I tried using both thick pieces and I could not get it to clamp down right.
It started to cross thread and I think I boogered a couple of threads on the mount.
I went back to the thick/thin combo, but it seems like it could be a little tighter.
I can see in your pick that you used at least one thick piece.
I guess I am just curious.
Did you go with 1 thick, 1 thick/1 thin, or 2 thick.
    Thanks!
    Adrian

    astainback, I will check tomorrow.
I think I used vice grips or needle nose pliers to squeeze mine together and start the bolt now that I think about it.
I'll verify shims and get back with you.

    Here's the pic.
    Both are the same thickness.
Do they look like the thick or thin ones, I don't remember.

I do remember using channel locks and squeezing the bracket together when I installed the bolt.
I haven't had any issues with vibration.
    .
Edit: I think they are both thick as I remember it took some pressure with the channel locks to get everything to line up.
I had it rolled down a little for install and think I removed the sticky backing and wiped them down with oil.
Then rolled it up after tight. It hasn't moved since that's for sure....lol.

It's one of those long thin kind you get at Lowe's to wrap up cables and stuff.
There is no way to brace the mount at the back of the mirror to the top part. It just slips right off.
The mount is solid, but with two bends in it, then the mirror, it just bounces.
This is what I did to mine when I got it last year. 5 minute fix using a piece of 5/8” heater hose I had laying around. Got rid of almost all the vibration. It just has the slightest movement now but not annoying. Almost rock solid and hasn’t bothered me. It just needed some downward pressure then being rubber worked out.
