The Yamaha GYT-R, Weller Racing, STI, Warn Winch, Summers Brothers, Tubeworks and SSV Works YXZ1000R Special Edition was the centerpiece of the Yamaha Pavillion, and it’s fully ready to rock the High Lifter Mud Nationals or Championship Mud Racing Series.
Summer Brothers got the call for upgrading the drive-line, and they have two grades of axles in 4340 ($175-$183) and 300M ($229-$245.80) steel. For serious mud work, the radiator had to be relocated to the rear of the cage, and the engine intake got a large snorkel drawing air at roof level. The Mud YXZ also got lit whips and cabin LED lights plus the alternator upgrade ($649.99) to power the High Output 27-inch accessory Halo LED light bar ($1,299.99).
For those that want to rock crawl instead of mud whomp, Yamaha has partnered with EFX/MSA for a 30-inch EFX Motoclaw tire and MSA wheel accessory kit. Motoclaws are $225.99 each, and Yamaha is working on a tire/wheel combination for the YXZ.
Yamaha announces its new GYT-R Torque-Assist Gear Kit for the YXZ1000R and Sport Shift, and this innovative kit reduces final gearing by 30 percent and first nearly 40 percent for low-speed operation, mud and rock crawling. The GYT-R Torque Assist Gear Kit includes a CNC-machined OEM transmission case to eliminate the need for grinding, modification or outside machining, an adjustable speedometer calibrator for precise speedometer readings in YXZs with aftermarket tire sizes, and all genuine Yamaha parts and components necessary for installation. The GYT-R Torque Assist Gear Kit will be available from authorized Yamaha dealers at an MSRP of $999.99.
